Plastic Stools for the Outdoors: The GM Tam Tam
December 28, 2007
Sometimes, I just don’t know what a designer was thinking about when they were struck by inspiration to create some of the wackier pieces of furniture I’ve seen. I once found a table that looked like some kind of huge mortar and pestle. And now I’ve found the stools that were designed to accompany it. Behold, the GM Tam Tam Stools:
They’re not bad, actually. I like them much more than I liked the table. They look a little bit like a Greek symbol straining under the weight of an occupant, but, nonetheless, they have their own charm. And with so many colors to choose from, I don’t imagine there are many decors that wouldn’t be able to handle these stools.
The GM Tam Tam stools are made from weather resistant polyurethane, which makes them perfect for outdoor use as well as indoor. They come in your choice of Fuchsia, Green, Beige, Orange, White, or Metallic Silver. (Although I see a black one lurking in the picture as well.) With so many choices, the GM Tam Tam stools could easily match playfully childish motifs, or modern, sophisticated ones. If you can’t stomach the thought of pairing them up with a table that looks like a slab of plastic rock, feel free to choose one of the smaller, more elegant designs. Bistro owners take note: These stools would make very neat contemporary cafe chairs.
The Tam Tam’s dimensions are: 35cm high, 56cm wide, and 25cm deep. They look perfectly shaped to conform to a human’s seat, like they’d scoop you right up and make for a pleasant seating experience.
